![]() | Background: There are many word games that require you to have both a great vocabulary and the ability to figure out which words will score you the most points (i.e., mathematical / spatial ability). In many of these games, using up all the letters you are currently working with will provide you a bonus. Bingo Bruiser provides a fun way to improve your bingo creation ability – thereby improving your word game acumen. |
Players: Suitable for 1 to 4 players.
Setup: The person who creates the game is the administrator. The administrator selects what length of bingos are being sought and how many turns will be played. For example, the administrator may decide on playing a game for 7 letter words where all players will get 10 turns. There is a default point value assigned to each letter, which can be altered by the administrator.
Play: The order of players is set automatically. Each player is given a set of X letters (the number of letters determined by the administrator for that game). Letters are provided randomly. Each player tries to form an X letter word. If they cannot form a word they can replace a letter with a letter of their choosing. Players are allowed to replace up to 6 letters on each turn. Each trade reduces their point score by 2 points. Negative point scores are possible. Players take turns simultaneously. Once every player has completed their turn, the results will be displayed to all players for that round. While a 7 letter word is always possible, in the case that a player exhausts their 6 replacement letters and still cannot form a word on that turn their score will be -25 for that turn.
Winner: There are two top prizes in the game, the one with the fewest letters replaced and the one with the most points overall.
